The Dog Training Co is a Melbourne based professional dog training and behaviour consultancy.
We provide private Puppy Programs, Dog Training sessions and Training Walks.
Sessions are individually tailored to your dog.
Work in the comfort of your home and within your neighbourhood, addressing real life situations in real life settings.
We work with dogs of all ages and breeds. Whether you need a lot of help or a little, we can find the right mix of training for you and your dog.
At The Dog Training Co we are passionate about helping you and your family to develop a PAWESOME relationship with your dog.
Jennifer
Professionally Certified in Dog Behaviour & Training
Besides offering private one-on-one training sessions to pet dogs and their humans through her business – The Dog Training Co, Jennifer also currently works with The Lort Smith’s Pet Therapy Program, where she provides assessments, workshops and training support to their Pet Therapy Teams.
Jennifer’s love of dogs led her to gain formal qualifications as a professional dog trainer in 2017 undertaking the Certificate IV in Companion animal Services. She undertook further study to enhance her knowledge, completing the Certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour (NDTF) in 2022 and officially started The Dog Training Co.
Previously, Jennifer worked with The Guide Dogs as a Guide Dog Nurse / Canine Welfare Assistant for 7 years tending to the puppies and dogs in the puppy nursery, training kennels and vet clinic. Working in the puppy nursery and training kennels allowed her to develop a greater understanding and gain valuable experience in understanding dog behaviour and training puppies. Often teaching manners, basic skills and toilet training to as many as 10 pups at once!
While completing her professional dog training studies she also had her placement with one of the leading dog training schools in Victoria. Assisting with puppy training classes, basic obedience and advanced obedience training classes. Allowing her to gain valuable experience with a wide variety of dog breeds and temperaments.
Her mission is to help people to understand how to communicate and work with their dogs.

Let’s talk! Send me a brief message about you and your dog and we can work out the best options to suit your needs.
Book
We’ll arrange a date and time for me to come to your home and we get started on your training. Depending on the service you require, you may be asked to complete a training questionnaire to ensure we make the most out of our training sessions.
Train
During your training sessions you’ll be provided with practical strategies and shown training techniques to teach your dog the new skills that are required to help address your training goals. Information handouts to support your learning are provided so that you can refer to them in your own time. Ongoing phone and email support is also provided.
